HEART FLOW YOGA in Fairfax at Yoga Mountain Heart Flow is one of the branches of the ancient tree of Hatha Yoga. It combines breath and both flowing and static movement with the intention to reconnect mind, emotions and body. Inspired by the fluidity of Surya namaskar and vinyasa, Heart Flow becomes a form of dance in which we interweave the Sun and the Moon energies with conscious breathing. The deeper intention of the practice is to awaken the compassionate energy within the heart. By igniting the inner fire and moving the prana throughout the body with awareness, we are able to get in touch with dormant sensations and memories inside of our beings, opening space for self-knowledge and self-healing. |

In this practice there is an invitation to find our own unique alignment, based on the principles of Iyengar and Yin Yoga. We also learn many different pranayama techniques that enable us to get in touch with our subtle energy body, as well as to open ourselves to a meditative experience. All these elements are bound together through the spirit of bhakti, or devotion. Prayers and invocations are brought to this mandala with the intention of opening one's heart to the nurturing, all-pervading energy that is always available within us and around us. |

And when this reconnection and remembrance happens, Yoga happens. We feel that re-union with the divine during our practice, and in our daily life as we cultivate peace, wisdom, and compassion towards ourselves and all beings. |
